Hedge funds can give your portfolio the boosted return it desperately needs.

Hedge funds have two major features that have made them one of the most popular investment vehicles for high net worth individuals. The first feature is that they have been granted more leniency from regulators than regular investment vehicles.

The other appealing feature is that the investment manager is paid on a performance basis rather than a flat fee regardless of performance. Traditional funds, such as mutual funds, charge a fee (sometimes substantial) that goes to pay the manager no matter how poorly it performs. A hedge fund manager, on the other hand, receives a portion of the returns he gets his investors. This incentive structure encourages earning the highest possible returns.

Hedge funds are known for their more exotic and risky investments that traditional funds don't, and often times can't, touch. Although this more aggressive approach carries more risk with it, you may also enjoy returns unheard of in other investment vehicles.
